• When Specialized set out to design the Stumpjumper, they had some pretty big goals. They wanted it to be the lightest bike possible, but without sacrificing durability. Specialized wanted a stiff chassis that corners like it's on rails and a geometry that everyone can enjoy. All of this paired with the best suspension kinematics they know how to design.
• Even the most travel is useless without the right kinematics, which is why Specialized put them at the forefront when developing the Stumpjumper design. Using the insights from the Enduro's suspension design and more than 1,000 hours of development work on the trail and in the suspension lab, they have significantly improved uphill pedaling performance while creating a capable, efficient and lively bike that every biker craves. In addition, the anti-squat behavior has been increased so that the suspension better resists bobbing. Square obstacles are now also better swallowed, which means less speed is lost. Conclusion? • The S-Sizing geometry of the new Stumpjumper hits the sweet spot. Long, low, flat, a fork with little offset, a steeper seat tube angle - all of this makes your ride a better experience. • Rider-First Engineered™ frames use a frame size-dependent approach to keep the ride characteristics identical across all sizes.
