Aerodynamics, integration and disc brakes

Wilier Turbine was designed using aerodynamic NACA profiles with the tail cut off, so that both weight reduction and increased torsional rigidity could be achieved. The hydraulic disc brake system not only ensures maximum reliability in all weather conditions, but also an increase in aerodynamic efficiency. It may be surprising, but thanks to the braking system used, the fork and rear stays can be positioned further away from the wheel: as a result, turbulence is drastically reduced and the aerodynamic coefficients improved. The analysis of the aerodynamics finally concentrated on the stem-handlebar area, a 100% in-house development. The shape of the Wilier turbine handlebar stem connects perfectly to the fork and forms a closed unit with no bulges or indentations. The resulting streamlined shape is at an absolute top level.

The variety of ergonomic positions that can be set on the Wilier Turbine is almost unlimited. With three available frame sizes, three variants of seat posts and the new, revolutionary handlebar unit, we meet the requirements of both the time trial and triathlon disciplines, even if they represent very different driving styles.
