High profile wheelset for time hunters

Ideal for flat stages or time trials, the DURA-ACE C60 focuses on aerodynamic efficiency and lateral stiffness. Thanks to their special construction, the new hub, stiffer spokes and high-profile rims give the driver the opportunity to put more pressure on the road when cornering and to ensure that every ounce of force is converted into forward movement.

Like the entire range of DURA-ACE wheels, the new C60 has been redesigned from the ground up. In contrast to the C36 and C50, the C60 series has a special front hub design and uses the OPTBAL 2: 1 spoke pattern to improve lateral strength. The C60 wheels also use stiffer spokes with 1.8mm instead of 1.5mm. Tested by our professional riders, the improved lateral stiffness of the C60 wheels allows you to put more pressure on the road when cornering. It also improves handling at high speeds. In addition, the high profile rims tested in the wind tunnel offer a more stable cross-section for higher speeds, which is of particular benefit to time trial specialists, triathletes and sprinters.

Centerlock
The centerlock system of the brake disc with multi-tooth profile and locking ring makes assembly easier. This system of assembly using a locking ring enables quick assembly and disassembly of the brake disc and thus saves service costs. In addition, the secure fit on the multi-tooth profile ensures greater precision and strength, which increases the effectiveness of the brake.

OPTBAL
The OPTBAL HR spoke system uses 21 spokes: 14 on the right and 7 on the left. The cassette width in today's wheels causes unbalanced tension in conventional 1: 1 spoke systems. This imbalance is intensified by the 11-speed cassette, which exerts almost double the tension on the spokes on the right. Under certain circumstances, high and low tension spokes can break or loosen. An unbalanced tension affects the lifespan and strength. The OPTBAL construction balances the spoke tension and thereby improves the wheel stiffness as well as the strength for a more robust wheel.
