ION's premium race-oriented clipless bike shoe

The Rascal Select offers much more than uncompromising power transmission to the pedal: its construction combines rigidity in the longitudinal axis with flexibility in the transverse axis and in the shaft. This torsional design principle helps prevent the foot from tipping over on the pedal. Special climbing and pedaling zones on the running surface ensure a reliable grip both on and off the pedal. The BOA® Fit system on the upper instep ensures quick, effortless and precise adjustment of the fit. Thanks to this system, a seamless connection between equipment and rider can be created and thus speed and agility. While the inner lining feels velvety soft when you put on the shoes, it shows its rough side if the heel slips out of the shoe. The inner lining, roughened in one direction, keeps the heel where it belongs - in the shoe.

Since the Rascal Select is designed for downhill-oriented skiing, ION has placed the cleat area further back compared to all mountain-oriented shoes. The cushioning EVA midsole absorbs shock and vibration, while the rubberized heel and reinforced toe cap absorb forces should your foot get caught on stones or roots. The asymmetrically shaped shaft protects the foot on the crank side and still offers full freedom of movement. The tough PU main fabric ensures durability and longevity of this premium shoe. Breathable mesh inserts in the forefoot area ensure a pleasant climate in the shoe.

  • SupTraction_Rubber Soul CL with a reinforced shaft: ION has mainly focused on the design and the rubber compound of the sole. They thought that there was still a lack of strength. Therefore, the shaft has been reinforced in the sole to gain more strength. Just as it should be for a high-end trail shoe
  • Ankle_Pad: The shaft is higher on the inside with additional padding to protect the lower ankle
  • Nonslip_Heel: Precise fit without slipping. While the inner lining feels velvety soft when you put it on, it shows its rough side if your foot should slip out of the shoe while driving. This is prevented by the one-sided roughened structure of the material
  • ToeTal_Protection: Reinforced toe cap to protect the forefoot in contact with roots or rocks
