Maxxis Minion DHR II
The Minion DHR II with its 3C MaxxTerra compound and DoubleDown casing is your ideal rear tire for tough enduro and bike park riding. It combines brutal braking traction and cornering grip with a stable casing and moderate rolling resistance for long days on the trails.
For drivers who love to tear downhill.
This Minion DHR II is designed for aggressive gravity lines. The scoop-like center knobs bite into the ground under braking, allowing you to brake later and harder. The massive side knobs, inspired by the legendary Minion DHF, provide excellent cornering grip and predictable steering response. The 3C MaxxTerra rubber compound delivers strong traction on roots and rocks without making the tire feel sluggish.
DoubleDown carcass. If you don't want any compromises.
The DoubleDown construction with two 120 TPI layers and an additional butyl insert protects you from punctures and pinch flats. Especially on fast enduro stages or in bike parks, the sidewall remains stable, ensuring precise steering and preventing the tire from folding at low pressures. At the same time, it's significantly lighter than a classic downhill tire, which is noticeable when pedaling uphill.
Wide trail design and tubeless ready
As a Wide Trail version, this tire is optimized for modern rims with an internal width of 30 to 35 millimeters. This results in a rounded and grippy tread pattern without feeling unstable. The Tubeless Ready construction means you can easily use it with sealant. This gives you the benefit of increased traction, reduced rolling resistance, and a lower risk of punctures.

Here's what we think about it
The Minion DHR II in this DoubleDown version is made for anyone who wants to go full throttle downhill and not worry about pinch flats. Many riders praise how controlled the tire is under hard braking on steep trails and how predictably it grips in berms. One user says that the DHR II on the rear, combined with a Minion DHF on the front, is his reference setup for enduro riding. Another rider describes how, thanks to its stable construction, she can even ride at high speeds in the bike park without reaching the tire's limits. Overall, the tire is considered extremely grippy, puncture-resistant, and yet still pedals well for long rides with significant descents.
